The mysterious group known as Fol Chen performed at the Echo in Los Angeles in front of a live audience.

Foot Village is a collection of energy, drums and primal talent. The band to the stage (parking lot) at Bar Melody which hosted LA Approved Presented by Origami Vinyl.

Foot Village - Urination

The Chinese Stars played an epic set at the smell in Los Angeles last November. We had all the video on a hard drive and then the drive decided to crash - but here's what we could salvage from that show.

Heaven on Speed Dial had just come out from the band's personal record label and so there was an intensity from the audience and them at the show - proud owners of their own label and the crowd participating in that endeavor.

Origami Vinyl hosted the record release show of Superhumanoids. Not superheroes, but merely citizens who have formed a band in Los Angeles. Lead singer Cameron took some time after the set to chat up about making the album and so we're grateful for that (he's not a superhero either).

No matter what, don't throw away those useless keys. They may be important later on. The Useless Keys are a four-some from different bands in the L.A. area, but bonded by some type of magical key ring... um, this metaphor isn't going anywhere.

Take two: The band talks about bad luck, album covers, residency and road trips.

Pete Bernhard, lead singer of The Devil Makes Three, has toned it down a bit with his solo project. Pete took time before his set at The Hotel Cafe in Hollywood, California, to speak on the finer points of playing with a new band.

The fellas from Olin & the Moon took time to chat about the finer points of being an L.A. band: paying your dues, good music, and the occasional beer. This is from the band's Tuesday night residency at the Echo in January of 2010.

Not quite the last show for the band, but the last show of the decade! Warning: You will experience seizure like symptoms while viewing, but this is common when partaking in a dance-off.

Toby Burke plays under the banner of Horse Stories - quiet, patient folk with an honest voice. Burke gives an update as to where the record has come from and how vinyl can save us all.

The Happy Hollows, in the midst of a Monday-night residency, took the time to answer a few questions and then proceeded to drop-kick fans at Spaceland in Silverlake. They seem too polite off stage, but their other personas are vicious creatures indeed.

Downtown L.A. where noise emanates from a dank alley and cig smoke billows into the air. It's the Smell off of 2nd Street - fueled by volunteer help and the noisiest bands this side of crazy. The Smell is a ship and this is her crew.

Super quick cut of Japanther and Ninjasonik sharing the stage at Los Angeles National Park. China Town was to the left and the barricade fell down during the show.

Red Cortez persuaded a whole lot of people to go Wooo at this summer's Also I Like to Rock at the Hammer Museum. Lead singer Harley also braved the geese at Echo Park to have a Q&A on the perils of pirates.

Interview time with the guys from Starfucker. They're more Kids in the Hall drag guys, and they send out all types of good vibes. Oh, and they like to interview the interviewer. Sneaky.

June 9, 2009 - Pocahaunted playing some noisy tunes at the Sonic Youth takeover of Origami Vinyl in Echo Park, California.

A few minutes of Q&A with musician Butterfly Boucher, who recently released her album "Scary Fragile" and is now holding a Wednesday night residency at Hotel Cafe in Hollywood, California.
