Red Cortez saved the midday – the sun finally coming down from its full arch and so the guys in the band were bathed in sun, but also covered in those daytime shadows that stretched across the stage. They played their newest song, “Virgin Ideas” and managed to bring a horn section with them. They might have been shaded, but their feet were struck with heat and for a lead singer who plays barefoot, Harley had a hard time keeping still – but that’s to be expected at one of their shows.
