Last year’s FYF Fest made us believers in the large scale, music festival as opposed to the first F*ck Yeahs that took place in smaller venues and so we’re glad to see the beast grow.
The lineup reads like this:
The Rapture, Panda Bear, Sleep, Dead Man’s Bones, Unbroken, Local Natives and muchos muchos mas.
Last year the Historic Los Angeles State Park was overrun and the fields undulated with music junkies of all ages – an all ages festival is a difficult task to sell to the city and so it’s always a good sign when a few teens get knocked around in the mosh pit for the first time. But this year looks to one-up previous incarnations with a Record Swap Meet, Carnival Games and we hope they don’t run out of veggie burgers before the sun goes down.
FYF Fest is ONE day of madness, fun, music, comedy and community. Volunteer why don’t you?
Kids under 10 get in free (but they have to be accompanied by an adult – who are these kids wandering around music venues by themselves?) Hm. The day after, Sunday, sees an intimate show with The Rapture and Panda Bear. But you can only buy those tickets at FYF on Saturday.
Uh oh, now you really want to go. Hold your britches, it’s right around the corner.
