Think Tiny Tim meets David Bowie in a very dark alley – then you’ll have an idea of Fantastic Magic. Labeling themselves Goth/Tropic/Visual, the San Diego band don’t seem to have much competition in that genre. Creating an eccentric ambience that segues into bold distortions that could shatter the very idea of the ukulele or lute. Wearing a wizard’s hat and traveling with a miniature organ, you’d think San Diego would have burn to the ground by now with the bravado these guys put on during live shows – they did something to The Smell and we liked it.
