About Us

We were going to start off as BrokenChair.com and bring you the latest in the Los Angeles music scene. But then we said to ourselves that “Broken” sounded like we were asking to be… well broke. SmashedChair is a music magazine. We were going to only focus on the Indie music scene, but we don’t want to limit ourselves. If it sounds good, then it’ll go up on this here site. That’s another thing, our site is one of a kind. In the land of blogs, it’s hard to be unique, so we went out of our way to not look like one. We still have love for the blog, but there are a handful of reporters at SmashedChair and we know that we can do a whole lot more, so here are the bare bone facts:

• Three Permanent Staff Members – Two Photographers, One Writer
• We update every week.
• We’re always looking for new bands. The more obscure the better.
• We have a MySpace.
• Someone said that we shouldn’t limit ourselves to just rock. If it sounds good…
• We’re always open to meeting freelance reporters/photographers.
